LPG safety: cylinders, maintenance and gas leaks

Safe handling is essential.

Leaks

Never use a flame to test for a leak.

If gas is suspected:

  2. 2Ventilate
  3. 3Leave the area if necessary
  4. 4Seek assistance

Cylinders

  • Keep cylinders upright and secure.
  • Check for damage or corrosion.
  • Use approved regulators, hoses and connections.
  • Keep cylinders away from excessive heat.

Maintenance

  • Use approved LPG equipment.
  • Replace hoses, regulators and other components according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
